Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications SG 22 - Bachelors Degree and three years of professional research experience in the appropriate field; or a Masters Degree in the appropriate field and two years of such experience; or a doctorate in the appropriate field.

Genetic background with clinical genetic counseling experience preferred as well as knowledge of current genetic testing methods, and ability to analyze data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duties Description The Research Scientist 2 will support the Newborn Screening Program by relaying test results to clinicians, examining and testing algorithms, analyzing data and performing other duties as assigned. The candidate is expected to provide education to parents impacted by screening, hospital staff, the medical community at large and other newborn screening programs.. The Program screens approximately 250,000 newborn specimens annually for more than 50 conditions.
