Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid license to practice medicine in New York State
AND
Certification in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
AND
Be eligible for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Psychiatrist 2 is essential to health and safety and the core mission of OPWDD. Many individuals in the care of OPWDD are diagnosed with a combination of Intellectual/Developmental and psychiatric disabilities in addition to medical conditions.
•The Psychiatrist 2 will independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide psychiatric care and treatment services to an assigned caseload of individuals.
•The incumbent will work with an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide clinical guidance.
•Communication and collaboration with family members and outside entities is expected.
•Documentation in an Electronic Health Record is an essential function of this position.
•Telehealth may be utilized based on the needs of the individuals served.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide direct clinical services to individuals residing at the Extended Treatment Unit and coordinate other treatment and support services for them; collaborate as a member of the treatment team. Cover Article 16 Psychiatry clinic duties when needed. Provide psychiatric evaluations, AIMS assessments and treatment programming along with individual and group therapy. Communicate and meet with hospital physicians and psychiatrists as needed. Rotate after-hours telephone on-call duties for psychiatric emergencies and participate in various oversight, eligibility and review committees.
