Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications For permanent appointment, candidate must be currently employed by New York State as a Habilitation Specialist 1 with permanent or contingent permanent service and eligible for transfer,
OR
Currently be employed by New York State and reachable for appointment on the Civil Service list for this title.
Duties Description A Habilitation Specialist 1 is required at the Metro Manhattan Day Habilitation Program for the following duties:
• Will run a classroom program
• Will meet with the ITT on an annual/semi-annual base to develop goals
• Will train DSAs assigned to their program classroom
• Will maintain a safe environment to safeguard the individuals
• Daily monitoring of data entrée, service compliance and inclusions
• Closely monitoring records books to ensure compliance
• Supervise and closely monitor work performances of all staff.
Additional Comments Please note:
• As of 10/12/2021 all OPWDD employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to mandatory weekly testing for COVID-19.
