Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with a minimum of one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Management Specialist 1, G-18, or NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. The position may also be filled at the trainee level by appointment of a candidate reachable on the PATT or PCO list or in a title eligible to transfer to Management Specialist Trainee 1 or 2. If filled as a trainee, the selected candidate must successfully complete a two-year traineeship to advance to journey level.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Medicaid Managed Long - Term Care Program, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Duties Description Reporting directly to an audit supervisor, the Management Specialist 1 will: conduct reviews of Managed Long-Term Care Plans; organize and process large volumes of data; create excel spreadsheets to document audit findings for recoupment of overpayments; learn and apply Medicaid policy, regulations, and Medicaid Managed Long-Term Care contracts; prepare audit reports; correspond with external program agencies; monitor and evaluate responses from providers; update audit-tracking systems; conduct research into existing and emerging trends in Medicaid Managed Long-Term Care industry, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Comments Management Specialist Trainee 1 position starts at $45,617.

Permanent; Full-time; Competitive. Hours to be determined. Some travel is required throughout New York State; travel to be discussed at interview.
