Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement for this position. Candidates who have not previously held a keyboarding title must pass a 5-minute typing session and must achieve a speed of 30 words per minute (WPM) with at least 96% accuracy in order to meet the Civil Service keyboarding standard.

Candidates reachable on the Civil Service Eligible list(s) will be canvassed. However, you may also apply if you are eligible for appointment by one of the following qualifications:

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a title Grade 6 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As an Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding in the Bureau of Public Work the incumbent will perform the following, but not limited to:
• formatting and typing correspondence, reports, forms, charts, and other materials to produce final copy that is accurate and grammatically correct.
• This work is carried out under varying conditions of direction and availability of guidelines and by the skilled use of a computer utilizing a variety of software packages, and typewriters.
• Order supplies and answer phones.
• Act as a personal secretary to a program specialist or administrator.
