Minimum Qualifications: On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher. As of February 26, 2022 all OPWDD employees assigned to this location must be full vaccinated against COVID-19. There is no testing option for employees assigned to this location in lieu of vaccination.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision of the Secretary 1 and Associate Director of Human Resources 1:
• Assist in gathering and compiling data for reports, graphs, charts, tables, or other products.
• Gather, compile, and prepare data from manual or automated files and other sources for various reports, publications, records, or other external or internal communications.
• Answer questions from and provide information to various parties regarding agency activities, transactions, and procedures. Refer inquiries as necessary.
• Open and distribute mail to appropriate parties; maintain supply and inventory. Take periodic physical inventory and maintain inventory records.
• Write responses to correspondence.
• Type, proofread, review, and correct correspondence, documents, records, and other written material.
• Schedule appointments and meetings using various office tools.
• Develop vacancy announcements, canvass civil service lists, and maintain related files.
• Maintain records via various methods (filing, scanning, electronic sorting, etc.)
• Assist employees with forms/paperwork related to human resources.
• Establish new files for various subjects, create folders and compile relevant material.
• All other duties as assigned.
