Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and five years of professional research experience in the appropriate field; or a Master’s Degree and four years of such experience; or a Doctorate in the appropriate field and two years of such experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in neuroscience, engineering, computer science, or related areas. Experience in engineering, computer science, or related areas. Expertise programming shell scripts and Matlab. Substantial experience in cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging and/or psychiatric research. Experience mentoring trainees. Ability to program in Python and other programming languages.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field and 5 years of postdoctoral experience in neurophysiology, including experience in advanced cellular imaging using multi-photon methods. She/he will have shown independence and leadership within a research group, skills in setting up and repairing advanced microscopy and cellular imaging equipment, and a strong track record of research in this area published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Duties Description Specific responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
• Coordinate educational efforts related to the Cognitive Computational Neuroscience Center (C3N), including seminars and educational activities such as courses and workshops.
• Install, maintain, facilitate access to, and coordinate usage of computer testing and physiological monitoring equipment in the core facilities associated with the C3N.
• Provide software programming related core facilities and services associated with the C3N.
• Maintain a regular newsletter associated with the C3N and liaise with relevant groups of users and collaborators internally and externally.
• Coordinate with administrators on grant proposals and help manage purchases and HR procedures for the C3N.
Additional Comments Background Investigation/Justice Center Review:

Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable. 2) Investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee’s employment application may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees. 3) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees may be required to pay any necessary fees. Additionally, prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
