Minimum Qualifications A. Experience

Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including one of the following:

1. One (1) year of satisfactory experience in a position comparable to a Clinical Chief of Service (COS) or Director of Mental Health Rehabilitation;

OR

2. Two (2) years of satisfactory experience in a position as administrative head of a multi- disciplinary treatment team;

OR

3. Two (2) years of satisfactory supervisory, professional, or administrative experience in the development, operation, and/or implementation of the mental health service delivery system for State facilities, counties, or local/private agencies in three (3) or more of the following areas: program development, management procedures, community organization, resource planning, funding, program proposals, advisory boards, consumer and community advocacy and intergovernmental relations.

AND

B. Education

A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science from an accredited school; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

Duties Description The DDPC 2 Operations serves as an essential member of the Executive Leadership Team at KPC. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, the DDPC 2 Operations is responsible for the coordination, direction, and oversight of KPC’s inpatient and outpatient treatment programs and services. The DDPC 2 Operations participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of facility goals and policies; oversees the admissions and discharge process to maintain facility census at optimum levels and to ensure that median length of stay does not exceed parameters set by OMH or facility policy; supervises, coordinates, and directs the activities of managers in administrative and operational program areas; monitors and oversees staffing, assignments and work schedules to ensure efficient and effective service delivery and quality patient care; and ensures the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic treatment environment.

Additional Comments Salary: $137,883- $173,431; Plus $3,026 Location Pay

Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (KPC), a Joint Commission (TJC) accredited mental health facility located on a historic campus in Brooklyn, New York, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Operations (DDPC 2 Operations). KPC provides comprehensive, integrated services 24 hours per day for hospitalized patients and operates three Transitional Living Residences; a Care Coordination team; an 80-bed Family Care Program with certified homes in the community; a satellite clinic on campus; and two community-based outpatient clinics located in the Canarsie and Williamsburg neighborhoods that provide assessment and treatment planning; health screening and referrals; discharge planning; verbal therapies; medication therapy; medication education; symptoms management; psychiatric rehabilitation readiness determination; case management; crisis management; clinical support; mobile outreach; and family support services. Background Investigation and Fees:
