Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications for taking the promotional examination: Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher.

Qualifying Experience for appointment from the eligible list: After one year of the service described in the Minimum Qualifications.

Duties Description 2 Openings; First position - Facility payroll processing time entry, overtime, extra time, lost time. Assisting payroll examiner in biweekly payroll to include quarterly hazard pay and pre-shift adjustment; reports, assisting staff with issues.

2nd position is in the Timekeeping Office - would have supervision over the office of 2 other employees. Entering timecards/timesheets, time off slips, swaps, workers compensation; tracking military time; ensure enough accruals for any time off exists and take necessary steps if not. Very busy office.
