Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications "Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service as a Hospital Nursing Services Consultant, G22, or Community Nursing Services Consultant Home Health Services, G22 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service in a title G20 or higher and meeting the open competitve minimum qualifications listed below.
Open Competitive Minimum Qualifications: Currently licensed and registered as a professional nurse in NYS; AND a minimum of five years of post-licensure health care, public health, community health, or other nursing experience in an appropriate facility setting. Three years of this experience must have been providing direct patient care in a licensed health care facility, and two years of this experience must have been in nursing supervision or working in the capacity of a nurse administrator. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Medicaid or other health insurers; experience with healthcare reimbursement; a strong understanding of primary care in New York State.
Duties Description Primary duties include 1) monitoring Medicaid's primary care reimbursement structure and impacts on access, and developing strategies for improved primary care utilization and 2) assisting with clinical research and decision as part of Medicaid's Internal Benefit Review Committee, assisting with benefit coverage determinations and 3) supervising staff assisting with primary care monitoring.
