Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science with at least one semester left to complete all degree requirements and a goal of becoming an actuary.
Duties Description The responsibilities of the Actuary Intern will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Participates in the annual actuarial valuation of System data
Drafts the information, charts, and graphs for the Actuarial and Statistical section of the System’s Annual Financial Report
Works with outside auditors and system accountants on preparation of the System’s annual financial statements
Prepares annuity values and option factors in accordance with statue, including the computation of option factors for alterative options and domestic relation orders
Preparation for the August board meeting

-Passed at least 1 actuarial exam
-Familiar with R statistical software
-Experience using Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel and Word
