Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-11 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The Program Aide will be assigned to the Sex Offender Registry within the Office of Criminal Justice Records. Duties of the Program Aide will include, but will not be limited to:
• Serve as first line resource for Registry staff for day-to-day workflow and technical related processes.
• Assist with review of incoming work and monitoring receipts to ensure workflow remains uninterrupted.
• Ensure quality control of Registry work by identifying and reviewing offender annual address verification forms, address change forms, new registrations and risk levels process, document and report findings. Compile reports and deliver feedback to staff as required.
• Answer phone calls from law enforcement agencies, courts, social workers, out-of-state registries, FBI, correctional facilities, parole, probation, childcare providers, camp directors, registered sex offenders and the public.
• Receive, research, and update Registry offender data including, but not limited to, address, employment, automobiles, internet accounts and photographs.
• Research, complete and document new registrations, includes contacting courts and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to obtain accurate information.
• Research notifications from law enforcement agencies on registered sex offender activity including arrests, license requests and stops to obtain current offender address information.
• Assist in the development of improvements to the data entry and information tracking processes.
• Receive, review, sort and distribute mail to ensure updates are tracked and updated in a timely manner.
• On occasion, duties may also include receiving and responding to subpoenas, traveling to court and appearing as subpoenaed, and testifying to SOR records.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
