Reassignment Qualifications:
Current Department of Labor employees only, with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in an Investigative Officer 4 (Labor Standards) if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Investigative Officer 4 (Labor Standards) eligible list for this location, if one exists.

52.6 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55b/c service in a Grade 23 or higher title determined to be administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as an Investigative Officer 3 (Labor Standards) Grade 23.

52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:
To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as an Investigative Officer 3 LS, Grade 23. In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, if three or fewer qualified Department of Labor Investigative Officers 3 LS, Grade 23 respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified candidates without further examination.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As an Investigative Officer 4 (LS) in Labor Standards, the incumbent will:

• Perform any duty assigned to an Investigative Officer 1, 2 or 3.

• Plan, direct and coordinate the investigative activities of a designated program within Labor Standards, including both administrative and technical supervision over all assigned units or geographical areas.

• Advise and report to agency management on investigative and related matters, ensures that Labor Standard’s goals and performance standards are met.

• Participate in the recommendation, formulation and implementation of agency investigative policies, procedures, practices and guidelines.

• Prepare reports detailing unit activities, workload, and personnel requirements; and evaluates the training needs of the unit for consideration by agency management.

Additional Comments This position may be filled in one of the following locations: Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse.

Travel is required and will be discussed at the time of interview.

As this position requires travel, the appointee must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and have a motor vehicle or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.
