Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Eligible for or possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.

Duties Description Under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed health care provider, performs nursing care tasks and procedures consistent with individual treatment plans and scope of practice, to maintain health, prevent and cure illness and injury, and alleviate suffering using practical knowledge of health processes and facility procedures.

Additional Comments Starting Salary of $52,009 includes an Increased Hiring Salary = Step 4 of the PS&T Salary Schedule for the SG-10 and Geographic Pay Differential=$4,000. Add 75 cents per hour hazard duty pay per hour worked paid quarterly. $575 Inconvenience Pay is additional compensation paid to an employee who is required to work four or more hours between 6 PM and 6 AM in a regular tour of duty.

You will need to maintain your registration. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position.

All individuals appointed to Licensed Practical Nurse positions will be required to satisfactorily complete a probationary period of 52 weeks, which begins at the time of permanent appointment. During probation, appointees will complete a training and development program that includes on the job training and carefully designed and monitored work experience. Initial training will be conducted on the day shift; however, at the conclusion of the initial training period, employees may be assigned to any shift - including nights, evenings, and/or weekends. Appointees must be able to work any shift.
