Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications 70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 12 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be similar by Civil Service.

52.6 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 12 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be administrative by Civil Service.

For transfers, a list of approved titles is available through Civil Service GOT-IT at https://careermobilityoffice.cs.ny.gov/cmo/gotit/. The GOT-IT site will inform you if your title requires special qualifications for 52.6 or 70.1 transfer as detailed above.

55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS:
Individuals certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55 B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.

Duties Description DUTIES:
The Internal Auditor 1 duties in Internal Audit will include but are not limited to the following:
• Conduct internal audits of Department program areas and functions.
• Participate in planning the audit, assessing risk, and developing audit steps in the audit program.
• Conduct audit field work and audit tests in accordance with the audit program which includes interviewing auditee staff, observing activities/processes, examining documents, and analyzing data.
• Maintain current knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations regarding the operation of the area under audit.
• Effectively use technology to complete audit work.
• Prepare written working papers to reflect the audit work performed and effectively support conclusions.
• Participate in preparing and communication findings, reports, and recommendations both verbally and in writing (e.g. summary of findings, audit reports).
• Comply with internal auditing standards and applicable policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, take ownership of audit work, and continuously move tasks forward.
• Exercise professional judgment and a positive attitude.

Required travel is approximately 20%; May include day trips or occasional overnights depending on the area being reviewed.
