Job Specifics

Duties Description The New York State Senate Majority Conference is seeking individuals with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to join their team as a Communications Manager. This position reports to the Director of Majority Conference Services to implement communications strategies for use by Majority Conference Member offices. This includes social media posts and developing content and designs for materials to be distributed by Majority Conference Members to their constituents, including flyers, and brochures.

In this dynamic role, you will:

•Research and develop content, including brochures, flyers, and mailers for distribution to constituents on various legislative accomplishments and state resources
•Draft and design social media graphics on legislative, initiatives including important bills passing, being signed into law, or taking effect
•Track legislation through LRS
•Assist in developing mail plans for Majority Conference Members

Minimum Qualifications To be considered, you must be a strategic thinker with knowledge of the NYS Government process and legislature and have:

•Effective written communication skills
•Experience with graphic design, particularly for social media
•Experience with the Legislative Retrieval System (LRS)
•Knowledge of NYS Government Agencies/Resources
•A bachelor's degree

Previous communications experience preferred, but not required.

Additional Comments Salary range is $60,000 to $65,000, commensurate with education and experience.
