Duties Description The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (NYS OPWDD) is seeking a Licensed Psychologist for a permanent, full-time position within the Hudson Valley Developmental Disabilities Services Office. The role involves supervising and providing psychological services to individuals in Comprehensive Adult Transition Homes (CATHs) aimed at facilitating the transition of young adults with behavioral challenges into less intensive residential settings. The psychologist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, develop treatment plans, conduct psychological assessments, complete evaluations to accomplish this goal. The Licensed Psychologist is a member of the Hudson Valley Psychology department and is expected to attend all monthly meeting and to assist with the department’s strategic plans and goals. All Licensed Psychologists are expected to conduct psychological assessments, complete evaluations including MOLST Capacity Assessments, Residential and Forensic reports. The psychologist will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and training/professional development. • The position is pivotal for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities transitioning from residential schools.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Psychologist.

Additional Comments This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.

• Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of statutory hiring rate ($93,530), Increased hiring rate ($24,345), Geographic Differential ($20,000), and Downstate Adjustment ($3,400). The Geographic Differential and Downstate Adjustment are also applied to the posted Job Rate ($117,875).

• If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.

• The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies.

• All OPWDD employees must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Continued employment will depend on maintaining eligibility.
