Job Specifics
Duties Description The New York State Senate is seeking a reliable, organized and detail-oriented individual with a team player attitude to fill a position in our Personnel Office. The professional for this role will be competent in prioritizing and working with little supervision, as well as displaying genuine commitment to working collaboratively and professionally with the team. The Time and Attendance Liaison works directly with staff and management to ensure the timely submission of employee time and attendance records, in addition to a host of other time-keeping duties.
•Verification of time and attendance records for authorization and completeness;
•Assist Senators and employees with time and attendance questions on the phone and in person;
•Update employees’ time and attendance balances; and prepare biweekly mailing.
•Return time and attendance records to supervisors of time and attendance to have any errors or incomplete items resolved.
•Proof previous day’s work for other employees.
•Send letters to employees with copies to appointing authorities regarding negative balances in vacation, personal or sick time.
•Process corrected time and attendance records.
•Conduct exit interviews to make sure employees are aware of Senate property that needs to be returned.
•If necessary enter information from change of employment status forms.
•Review employment papers and assign personal leave to new employees.
•Type and proof termination reviews.
•Any other duties required when the Time and Attendance Supervisor is unavailable.
Other administrative duties may be required as needed by the office
Minimum Qualifications •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Attention to detail is a must
•Must have the ability to work with a variety of people and situations.
•Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
•Basic computer knowledge and appropriate software proficiency required.
•Ability to maintain the upmost confidentiality is required.
Previous time keeping experience heavily preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. We are a team collaborative office and thrive on working together to get the job done.
Additional Comments Salary range is $40,000 to $45,000, commensurate with education and experience. Excellent Benefits
