Job Specifics

Duties Description The incumbent will report to the agency's Training Unit. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Support the implementation of new training initiatives and development of administrative processes to support this effort, including creation of course announcements, participant registrations, and managing of the training website.
• Manage and support course offerings utilizing the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) Learning Management System (LMS), to include virtual and in-person deliveries.
• Assist with the coordination, execution, and evaluation of large multi-agency specialty team exercise events, to include the annual Law Enforcement conferences, Canine Week, Tactical Week, and Excelsior Challenge.
• Support the development, execution, and evaluation of complex transit-related exercises in New York City in coordination with a variety of local, state, and federal partners.
• Manage the student evaluation process for the training courses, including the development and maintenance of student evaluation forms, the analysis of student feedback for courses, and the implementation of enhancements to courses based on student feedback.
• Provide staff support to the DHSES Training Coordination Team to include management of the DHSES Monthly Executive Dashboard for Training and the DHSES Training Catalog.
• Conduct research on homeland security policy and public safety trends, as they relate to training developed by and delivered by DHSES Training.
• Organize, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, work groups, and training for diverse public safety stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between DHSES and partner agencies in matters relating to DHSES coordinative initiatives and provide guidance and training to stakeholders.
• Represent the agency at conferences, meetings, and in program reviews as appropriate.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
• Travel may be required, up to 25%.

Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: bachelor’s degree and two years of experience* in intelligence analysis, homeland security, counter terrorism, emergency preparedness analysis and assessment, or investigations.

*A master’s degree may substitute for one year of the experience.
