Job Specifics

Duties Description Under the general direction of the Director of IT, the Project Coordinator will serve as the Network and Server Maintenance Administrator and will oversee and manage network and technical IT operations of lower staff at Helen Hayes Hospital. Duties will include:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of information Technology Services (ITS), including but not limited to staffing, helpdesk, and project management.
• Determine the need for technology and software for hospital.
• Responsible for the network architecture, security, implementation, and management.
• Liaison with various hospital departments in conjunction with ITS personnel to resolve client problems in a timely manner.
• Provide the hospital community a single source of contact for professional Support in matters relating to all Network operations.
• Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities for staff assigned, including training, educating, and evaluating staff.
• Manage all technical and operational contract.
• Responsible for ensuring uninterrupted users to the network and all its resources.
• Responsible for the defining, maintaining the computing environment standards for the hospital.
• Research, evaluate and recommend hardware and software changes
• Responsible for all network and information security issues
• Ensure maximum availability and reliability of the network.
• Maintain network hardware and software.
• Ensure adequate backups of system software and data allowing for fast and efficient recovery.
• Maintain Internet blocking, monitoring as per hospital policy. Provide reporting as required
• Responsible for vendor selection of PCs, software, printers, and fax machines.
• Responsible for all installation and maintenance of PCs, software, printers and fax machines.
• Inventory tracking of PCs, software, printers, and fax machines.
• Provide on-call support for helpdesk staff.
• Install and maintain system to track requests, assignments, resolution, elapsed time to resolution, and appropriate classification codes to determine the type of request.
• Design and maintain an escalation policy designed to bring the proper resources to bear on problems.
• Maintain, and manage, a computer and telephone support center for the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications Either 1. a bachelor's or higher level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND three years of experience in the following computer related areas: computer programming; network, storage, and systems management; telecommunications, IT customer support and training; computer installation, diagnosis, and repair; technical writing; computer security; knowledge management; database administration, design, and management; internet/intranet development, design, and maintenance; information technology project management; design and development of geographic information systems or computer aided drafting applications; computer programming; business/systems analysis; program design; or program testing;

Or

2. a bachelor's or higher level degree in any field AND four years of experience in computer related areas as described in #1 above;

Or

3. an associate's degree* with 15 semester credit hours in a computer science field AND five years of experience in computer related areas as described in #1 above;

Or

4. six years of experience in computer related areas as described in #1 above.

The posted salary range ($100,336 to $125,413) includes $4,000 of downstate adjustment.

This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.
