Job Specifics

Duties Description St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center is recruiting an Associate Director Training 1 Mental Hygiene to manage and oversee the daily operations of the Education and Training program for facility staff including employees in community-based programs. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

As an Associate Director Training 1 Mental Hygiene, you will supervise staff that are responsible for providing a comprehensive education and training program including:

• Planning, organizing, and directing training programs to improve performance of facility operations
• Overseeing the development of educational training programs
• Monitoring training programs for compliance with mandated accreditation requirements
• Developing and maintaining relationships with other training organizations and educational institutions

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as an Associate Director Training 1 Mental Hygiene if they have

• Bachelor’s degree; and
• 4 years of professional experience in the development, delivery, and management of staff development programs in a mental hygiene setting. 1 year of this experience must have been in a supervisory position in a setting providing services to individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or alcohol and substance abuse with responsibility for all or major part of a comprehensive staff development program.

OR

Candidates from within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
