Duties Description Position Title: Community Liaison
Job Description: Seeking part-time, bilingual (Spanish/English) Community Liaison in the Ossining District Office for NYS Assembly member. This is an in-person position.
Duties include:
Assist District Office staff with community outreach efforts, including, but not limited to:
Assist in planning and staff community outreach events including annual senior citizens resource fair, mobile office hours, town hall meeting, etc.
Staff outreach tables at community events
Assist with translation of documents for office communications and conversations with constituents
Represent Member at meetings
Assist District Office staff with constituent services, including, but not limited to:
Assist constituents with problems and issues with state agencies
Draft e-mail and other communications to constituents and provide follow-up with agencies, organizations or companies, etc., on behalf of constituents
Organize constituent files and maintain tracking system
Receive and place phone calls to constituents and intergovernmental departments
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Qualifications:
High school diploma
Minimum two years of college preferred
Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English, written and spoken)
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Stellar interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders including constituents, governmental partners and organizations
Patient, understanding, empathetic and compassionate
Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational skills

Additional Comments Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience (starting at $20,000-$30,000/year), 20 hours a week, flexible work schedule (after hours work may be required on evenings and weekends, with advance notice)
