Job Specifics

Duties Description New York State Senator Kevin Parker is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Constituent Liaison for Community Affairs to join the team in his District Office in Brooklyn, NY. This individual will be responsible for managing constituent casework, building relationships with local stakeholders, and helping ensure responsive, high-quality service to the community.

In this dynamic role, you will:

•Serve as a first point of contact for constituents seeking assistance with state or local issues, including housing, public benefits, immigration, education, and more
•Manage constituent casework from intake through resolution using internal tracking systems
•Attend and represent the Senator at community board meetings, neighborhood events, town halls, and public forums.
•Establish and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, tenant associations, advocacy groups, and faith leaders
•Prepare community reports, updates, and correspondence for internal and external use
•Provide regular feedback to legislative and communications staff on local trends and constituent priorities.

Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications for Candidates Moving Forward:

•Master’s degree in social work (MSW)
•Strong knowledge of Brooklyn communities and issues impacting urban NYC neighborhoods
•Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
•Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable but not necessary (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole, Russian, Chinese)
•Experience in government, social services, or community organizing is a plus
•Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and casework management software

This is a full-time position with some evenings and weekends required for community outreach.

Additional Comments The salary range is $50,000 to $55,000, commensurate with education and experience.
