Job Specifics

Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 (OA1) serves as the first point of contact for the office providing outstanding customer service by answering the main phone line, and responding promptly to emails and text messages. This role also manages incoming and outgoing mail, oversees office supply inventory, and coordinates ordering and purchase requisitions. Assisting in the support of application processing, including data entry and quality assurance, as well as assisting with forms completion and event planning is also included. Minimum Qualifications Must be eligible for permanent appointment to this title pursuant to civil service law.
A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with a variety of individuals.
Effective communication skills, written and verbal.

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
