Job Specifics

Duties Description The incumbent will be assigned to the Business Office within the Office of Budget and Finance (OBF) and will report to the Senior Budgeting Analyst. Job duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining oversight on shared mailboxes ensuring all items are addressed and responding to inquiries from travelers, program areas, staff, etc.
• Maintaining oversight on administration of travel, NET, and procurement cards including deactivating/suspending cards, updating cards, and adjusting card limits.
• Reconciling travel, NET, and procurement card transactions and credit card statements.
• Conducting oral and written communications with vendors, agency program staff, and DCJS employees for the purpose of providing and requesting information, resolving issues, and explaining or interpreting procedures.
• Auditing and processing travel vouchers and executive invoices.
• Providing training and assistance to travelers, vendors, program areas, and OBF staff.
• Reviewing and monitoring MarkView for Okay to Pay emails.
• Running reports in Oracle and SFS.
• Scanning, attaching, typing, filing, and copying documentation, as needed.
• Handling other projects as assigned by supervisor or management, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience where most work time is spent performing mathematical operations, and/or clerical activities related to mathematical operations.

NY HELPS: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).

For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a title SG-7 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law, or reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list for this title.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work independently and as a team member with strong attention to detail and accuracy along with strong mathematical skills; good verbal and written communication skills; familiarity with Oracle Financial Management System and the Statewide Financial Systems (SFS) is preferred.
