Job Specifics

Duties Description Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Aviation Bureau, the Intermodal Transportation Specialist 2 will be integral to the Aviation Bureau, focusing on the critical needs of the aviation industry. This role involves analyzing, updating, creating and maintaining operations, reports, legislation, policy and manuals within the Aviation Bureau, at Republic and Stewart Airports. This role, as a salary grade 23, will be required to lead efforts independently. Extensive field work and overnight travel will be required. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Lead brownfield clean-up coordination efforts at NY airports:
• Lead Advanced Air Mobility statewide planning, in coordination with external consultants;
• Lead air service development studies as necessary;
• Travel regularly to Stewart airport for environmental construction assessments;
• Aviation training lead, including statewide travel for regional training;
• Aviation grant payment and SFS expert in charge of documentation of processes;
• Presentations to executives and aviation experts will be required;

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
