Job Specifics
Duties Description This position is with the Reservations & Pass Programs Bureau within the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), located in Albany, NY. The Program Aide works as part of the Bureau’s Reservations Team to provide day-to-day support to the Reservations Manager and Coordinator. The team is responsible for the program, policy, and guidance of the Agency’s statewide camping, day-use site, and marina slip operations, which consists of 68 campgrounds, 86 day-use site facilities, and seven marina slip facilities. The portfolio generates approximately 244,000 reservations and $28.2 million in revenue annually.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Perform day-to-day tasks in support of the Agency’s Facility Reservation System, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite software, Microsoft Outlook, and vendor’s reservation system software.

- Facility Information Updates
• Understand and apply camping, day-use site, and marina program guidance, policies, and technical assistance to agency staff.
• Support team during the implementation of ongoing program initiatives and/or new features or policies.
• Aid in the management of shared mailboxes as well as interact and correspond with patron inquires received via email or phone call.
• Assist team in compiling data, running reports, or drafting documents.
• Assist and serve as backup to the Reservations Team as needed.
• Attend (occasional) tabling events.
• Perform other duties and assist with special projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT VIA ELIGIBLE LIST APPOINTMENT OR TRANSFER:
Candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for lateral transfer or for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Subsequent 55-b/c Qualifications:
A subsequent 55-b/c appointment may be considered if the Civil Service eligible list for this title is exhausted and the candidate has at least one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title that Civil Service has deemed transfer eligible to the position and has a current Civil Service 55-b/c letter of eligibility.

Note: The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.
Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel, are required.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining professional communication with bureau staff and the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret information and formulate conclusions, strategies, and recommendations.
