Job Specifics
Duties Description While working with the CDI Reentry Unit, the Case Management Intern will become familiar with programs, protections, and policies for justice involved individuals in New York State. The Intern will support the CDI team in helping justice impacted job seekers overcome barriers to employment and achieve their career goals. This role involves assisting with intake interviews, workshops, maintaining accurate client records, and connecting participants to training, job opportunities, and community resources. The intern will apply their skills in research, project management, and knowledge of Microsoft office suite to update resources of Reentry Information and materials that can be accessed on-demand by Reentry Employment Specialists and Employment Counselors working at New York State Department of Labor Career Centers. The intern may also be involved in writing and editing new reentry documents and resources while working on this project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in conducting client assessments to identify skills, needs, and employment goals.
• Support the creation and monitoring of individualized career plans.
• Research and compile information on job openings, training programs, and supportive services.
• Maintain organized case files and update progress notes in the database.
• Participate in workshops, job fairs, and outreach activities.
• Provide follow-up communication to ensure clients remain engaged and on track.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in workforce development, social services, or human resources.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

•Gain hands-on experience in case management processes.
• Develop skills in client engagement, resource navigation, and employment support.
• Understand the role of workforce development in community empowerment.
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate • program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State*
• Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent
