Job Specifics
Duties Description • Assist with tasks in support of telematics endeavors including but not limited to developing a telematics installation schedule, drafting telematics communications, procedures, and policies.
• Scheduling telematics hardware installation with vendor and customer agencies for vehicles coming in and out of service.
• Scheduling telematics hardware repairs with the vendor and agencies.
• Travel to telematics installation sites across the state to arrange the site, oversee the installation process, troubleshoot issues, and liaison with agencies and vendors.
• Maintain asset records through the use of the agency’s fleet management systems.
• Gather, organize, and analyze data from files, systems, and other documents.
• Serve as a liaison to vendors and employees regarding telematics activities, transactions, issues and procedures.
• Research fleet related emerging technologies.
• Utilize programs in the MS office Suite.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Operational Needs:
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required.
• Travel required (30%)
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1of the Civil Service Law.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
