Job Specifics

Duties Description The Center for Health Equity Impact Assessments (Center) within the Office of Health Equity and Human Rights oversees the review and evaluation of Health Equity Impact Assessments. As part of the Certificate of Need program that governs the establishment, ownership, construction, renovation, and change in service of health care facilities across New York State, Health Equity Impact Assessments provide critical information on whether a proposed health care facility project will impact health care access or service delivery in a particular service area, especially for medically underserved groups.

Reporting to the Program Data Analyst, the Graduate Student Assistant will support the Center’s data analysis activities and public health work. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-minded student to work alongside the Program Data Analyst to perform data manipulation tasks with quantitative and qualitative data, identify program gaps, and strengthen policies that improve the accessibility and delivery of health care services. The Graduate Student Assistant will also analyze and interpret data using analytical methods, and evaluate and prepare tables, graphs, fact sheets, and written reports summarizing analysis results.
