Position Information:
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking a detail-oriented Office Assistant 1 for a temporary position within the Division of Fiscal Management, based at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY. Supporting the team in preparation for the 2026 Great New York State Fair, the assistant will manage essential administrative tasks, including processing forms for accuracy, handling phone correspondence, and tracking independent contractor documentation. Key responsibilities also involve preparing and drafting contracts, facilitating superintendent reviews, and providing paperwork to State Fair Superintendents for review and submission for payment. This temporary, hourly role is conveniently located at 581 State Fair Boulevard.

This is a part-time position offering approximately 20 hours/week, working Monday-Friday starting May 1, 2026, through September 18, 2026. Hours are expected to increase from August 1 through September 18 and may include some weekends. This position is represented by CSEA, offering a competitive pay rate of $17.35/hour.

Note, you must be available to work from May 1, 2026, through September 18, 2026.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.
