Job Specifics
Duties Description The incumbent of this position will report to the Operational Support Branch within the Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist with the Frontline Supervisors Training Program (FLSTP) as necessary.
• Assist and provide support for the Firefighter Recruitment and Retention Grant program.
• Assist with OFPC requirements of the Emergency Managements Assistance Compact (EMAC) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reimbursement efforts as needed.
• Maintain and update the OFPC Continuity of Operations Program (COOP) plan annex in conjunction with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
• Provide assistance with staff and procedures to Academy Operations for Quartermaster functions.
• Participate with Capital Projects Initiatives to provide technical assistance and represent OFPC specific requirements.
• Assist and provide support for the Firefighters Recruitment and Retention Grant Program
• Supervise and provide oversight to staff that distribute and maintain inventories of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Assist with Fleet Management duties as needed.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly reports as needed.
• Assigns work, evaluates work performance, counsels' staff, approves time off, trains staff, and participates in the interview and selection process.
• Perform supervisory functions to ensure proper staffing levels and finances are available to support programs.
• Represent Branch Chief and State Fire Administrator at meetings and events.
• Performs other duties and special projects as required.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle.
• Significant travel, approximately 60%, often overnight in an assigned geographic location is required.
Minimum Qualifications REASSIGNMENT/TRANSFER
Current New York State Division of Homeland Security and emergency Services employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as an Fire Protection Specialist 2 and are interested in reassignment.
