Job Specifics
Duties Description The incumbent serves as a critical policy and technical staff person within the Bureau of Program Implementation and Enrollment. The incumbent will be responsible for managing tasks related to changes to the Medicaid Managed Care benefit package including stakeholder communications and policy development. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing meeting support, coordinating Plan initiated and State initiated In Lieu of Services (ILS) submissions, supervising staff, and other duties as assigned. The incumbent will also be expected to maintain knowledge of the Medicaid program in New York State and the full array of program benefits.
Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Systems Specialist 3, G-23.
Permanent Transfer Candidate: Current NYS employee with one of year of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive service in a title Grade 21 or higher deemed eligible for transfer to Health Systems Specialist 3 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of civil service law.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have robust knowledge of the New York State Medicaid system, program benefits, and relationships with relevant stakeholders.
