Job Specifics

Duties Description Under a Contract Management Specialist 1, the Contract Support Specialist will be assigned to work on projects at the Division for Historic Preservation related to the African American Heritage Education and Capital Grant Program. The selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Provide assistance with developing, preparing, reviewing, implementing, processing, tracking, and providing administrative oversight of contracts and/or amendments.
• Provide technical assistance to grantees and auditing contract claims and documentation to ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Answering questions regarding Conditions of Award (CoA).
• Collecting and Reviewing CoA documentation.
• Entering contracts and amendments into SFS.
• Facilitating communication between Grantees, Project & Contract Managers.
• Tracking grant project lifecycles and deadlines.
• Reviewing reports to ensure contract compliance.
• Examining reimbursement requests and accompanying documentation.
• Assisting with required reporting to the Department of State.

Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in maintenance, construction, landscaping, business operations, park operations, or in an organized recreation program.

Additional Comments ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
• This position is expected to be funded from June 2026 through March 2030.

OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Previous experience with NYS grant contracts, the Statewide Financial System (SFS) and providing technical assistance to grantees.
