Job Specifics
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 1, G-23, will assist with management of the DOH Medical Indemnity Fund Bureau operations. Responsibilities include assisting with the management of clinical and/or administrative operations of the Bureau, which may include, but are not limited to vendor management; quality assurance activities; assisting with clinical and/or operational reviews; monitoring and/or oversight of environmental modification and case management activities; problem resolution, data analysis and report generation for unit workload statistics; development and implementation of policy and procedure; supervision of staff; and other duties assigned to support Bureau operations.
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Health Program Administrator 1, SG-23, OR; Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent service in a title eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, SG-23, under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with contract and vendor management. Knowledge and experience with health insurance program functions, clinical or case management, and/or environmental modifications is helpful. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and excellent decision-making, critical thinking, writing, and editing. Strong project management and facilitation skills preferred.
Additional Comments Licensure, certification, and/or experience in a health profession, case management, claims administration, and/or environmental modifications may be helpful but is not required.
