Job Specifics
Duties Description • Supervise CBC Administrative clerical staff to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely processing of criminal background checks.
• Communicate as needed with DCJS and Idemia on issues related to fingerprint processing. Respond to agencies’ requests for assistance and information.
• Manually upload rap sheets that failed to automatically update in the Justice Center CBC system. Provide other troubleshooting responsibilities, as necessary.
• Monitor workflow procedures for processing criminal background checks and arrest notices, and, along with Unit management revise procedures as necessary and/or as directed by legislation.
• Process responses to SEL and Executive Law 562 requests for possible matches. Respond to requests for additional information from providers for applicants either on the SEL or having Category 2 findings.
• Maintain Staff Exclusion List status spreadsheet. Make updates as necessary for new placements, status changes, and removals. Notify providers of updates to SEL status of their employees. Coordinate with other units when questions arise.
• Provide monthly statistics on applicants reviewed for CBC Unit management using Excel spreadsheets. Also, provide monthly numbers on the SEL and Category 2 changes to agency leadership.
• Handle the subsequent Category 2 notification process. Coordinate with ITS staff to compare the Executive Law 562 report to the CBC system. Complete SEL checks through the VPCR for those individuals requiring a check. Send copies of notifications to applicants as required.
• Process AARM Authorized Person Designation forms to add new staff for providers. Respond to questions about AARM notifications. Prepare monthly AARM AP reports for OASAS and OPWDD Incident Management Units.
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Project Manager 3 and are interested in reassignment; OR Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 23 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 as appropriate of the Civil Service Law.
Promotion: one year of service as a Project Manager 2.
