Job Specifics

Duties Description Specific duties shall include, but are not limited to:
• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET/C#, Java/J2EE, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other supported programming technologies.
• Develop and support RESTful and SOAP web services, APIs, and system interfaces used to exchange information between NYBE, Back Office, agency, and external systems.
• Design, develop, enhance, and support Oracle SOA Suite applications using technologies such as BPEL, Mediator, adapters, transformations, fault handling, messaging, and alerts.
• Develop and support BPEL processes using Oracle technology adapters, including database, file, FTP, JMS, and web service adapters.
• Work with the NYBE SOA and backend processing teams to support application processing, interfaces, data transmission, and system integration.
• Develop and support Java-based APIs and third-party interfaces used to connect to and process files on SFTP and other secure file-transfer systems.
• Analyze application and interface issues, identify root causes, implement corrections, and complete unit testing.
• Troubleshoot development, testing, and production issues involving applications, databases, web services, interfaces, and scheduled processes.
• Participate in application design sessions, technical discussions, code reviews, project meetings, and solution-planning activities.
• Review business and technical requirements and assist with developing appropriate application and interface solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, interface specifications, data mappings, deployment instructions, and support procedures.
• Coordinate with business analysts, quality assurance staff, infrastructure teams, and agency partners to support testing, implementation, and production deployment activities.
• Provide Level 4 production support and participate in on-call support when required.
• Lead or participate in technical discussions, application demonstrations, knowledge-transfer sessions, and team meetings.
• Assist less-experienced team members and share technical knowledge when appropriate.
• Follow established application development, security, change-management, and deployment standards.
• Meet the Department’s time and attendance requirements.
• Supervision of subordinate staff

Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a lateral transfer or for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title. If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
