Job Specifics
Duties Description This position resides in the Division of Operations' Bureau of Transportation Services. Duties include:
• Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of the Equipment Operator Instructors.
• Develops training schedules and prioritizes training requests for Department staff.
• Evaluates training programs; compiles and maintains records of training activities; and compiles technical training materials, manuals, and charts.
• Assist management in the development and implementation of policies and directives.
• Serves as lead evaluator and instructor at specialty equipment training programs.
• Manages equipment pool for the Division of Operations and serve as Operations point of contact for the Statewide Equipment Pool and Disaster Preparedness Asset Tracker.
• Provides guidance to Regional Offices for the scheduling and renting equipment as necessary.
• Provides technical advice beyond traditional instruction such as creating specifications and evaluating equipment.
Actual work schedule, duties, and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
Minimum Qualifications Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC
or
Reinstatement - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.
or
Transfer Eligible – Eligible to transfer under Section 70.1: One year of permanent competitive service as a Highway Maintenance Supervisor 2.
Additional Comments Transportation needs of this position require use of a state vehicle and adhering to the Department’s Vehicle Policy. You must have and maintain a valid driver’s license for this position.
Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.
Overnight travel may be required.
Telecommuting may be available up to 50% of work schedule, will be discussed at interview.
