Labor Services Representative, Grade 16:
One-year of permanent competitive; or 55b/c service; or the completion of a permanent traineeship, in one of the following titles:
Employment Counselor, SG 18
Investigative Officer 1 (and parenthetic), SG 16
Labor Services Representative (and parenthetic); LSR LVER (and parenthetic), SG 16
Jobs Program Specialist, SG 16
Supervising Labor Services Representative, SG 20
Labor Services Representative Trainee 2, NS, equated SG 14:
One-year of permanent competitive; or 55b/c service; or the completion of a traineeship, in the following title:
UI Reviewing Examiner, SG 16
Labor Services Representative Trainee 1, NS, equated SG 13:
One-year permanent competitive; or 55b/c service; or the completion of a permanent traineeship in one of the following titles:
Disability Review Psychologist, SG 25
Employment Services Representative, SG 18
Medical Relations Coordinator, SG 23
Safety and Health Inspector, SG 16

Section 70.4 Transfer:
Candidates with one year permanent competitive service as a Grade 11 or higher, AND a bachelor’s degree*, with a passing score on the most recent Open-Competitive examination for Labor Services Representative Trainee 1.
*From a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices.
**Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment**
Duties Description As a Labor Services Representative, you would assist customers and provide a broad range of services to jobseekers and employers both on an individual basis and through group presentations. You would interview customers to evaluate the nature of services desired, obtaining a complete work history including job experience, education, skills, salary ranges and job preferences. You would identify barriers to employment and develop solutions to these barriers. You would provide information on resources available through the Department of Labor.

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evening and/or out-stationed assignments.
