Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level required: Bachelor in STEM related field.
Relevant experience required: Experience with manufacturing, one or more of the institutes’ technology focus areas, and performing business development. Excellent writing skills, presentation and project management skills.

Duties Description BASIC FUNCTION:
This individual will serve as a liaison between small and mid-sized manufacturers in New York State, the New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NY MEP), and the network of Manufacturing USA institutes, particularly their university members located within New York State. This individual will have technical expertise needed to broadly understand the technical subject areas covered by the institutes and their value to the competitiveness of small manufacturers. This individual will provide coordination and support for federal grant-funded initiatives through which NYSTAR has embedded NY MEP personnel in multiple institutes, and identify and implement initiatives to further facilitate dissemination of new technologies into appropriate manufacturing or technology companies.

WORK PERFORMED:
•Work with “embedded” staff and the institutes to understand the Manufacturing USA network’s capabilities and available expertise.
•Research relevant technology needs/opportunities among New York small and mid-sized manufacturers.
•Identify manufacturers that can benefit from or participate in the institutes’ R&D and new technologies.
•Manage projects to ensure small and medium sized companies are receiving assistance needed.
•Encourage the development of project teams to respond to Institute project calls.
•Coordinate and support the development of value propositions and marketing messaging to assist in promoting the institutes’ output to small and mid-sized manufacturers.
•Participate in working groups and on boards as required.
•Travel across New York State to work with partners to further establish and strengthen the network.
•Travel out of state to other sites as required.
•Present at meetings (in/out of state) highlighting NY MEP and Manufacturing USA capabilities and work done under this grant.
•Report regularly to ESD and federal funder
