Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Must hold a certificate issued by the New York State Public Health Council in the grade required for operation of the plant to which the employee is assigned.

Duties Description Perform all of the duties and responsibilities of Filter Plant Operator, but over more complex systems as described in the distinguishing characteristics, or operate water purification and wastewater treatment filtration systems that are collected at the same facility. May perform the full range of supervisory duties such as approve leave and track time and attendance and identify staff development needs; evaluation staff performance and complete performance evaluations. Operates and maintain the water filter plant, the reservoir facilities, water pipe lines and valves. Performs chemical testing and treatment as required for health department regulations and plant operations, supervises the plant operation by Plant Utilities Engineer 1s. Supervises the training of new staff in the operation of water filter plant. Ensure proper operation of facilities sewage plant.
