Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be current in title, eligible for 70.1 transfer, or reachable on the NYS Civil Service Eligible List for this title. Provisional appointments will only be considered if there are no candidates eligible for permanent appointment. Refer to the GOT-IT website for qualifications.

Duties Description • HCBS Medicaid Compliance Monitoring Liaison
• QI Liaison: Works closely with several treatment teams to ensure regulatory compliance, particularly in areas that ensure health and safety and fiscal compliance. Meets with team leaders and DDPS 4 on regular basis to review regulatory issues and related policies, assists in the development of policies to ensure agency is in compliance with regulations, completes regular review of residential and program services, assists teams in preparation for surveys/audits and follow up post-survey/audit. Provides assistance to teams in developing habilitation plans and all related documentation. Provides training in Medicaid compliance and Survey Awareness for New Employee orientation. Sits on numerous committees, to provide necessary guidance/oversight from QI perspective.
• Conducts training, audits, and consultation related to Medicaid compliance issues/concerns.
• Assist teams in crafting Survey responses.
• Completes agency level investigations as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate, and will be evaluated against the following:
• Ability to initiate and maintain productive working relationships with people served as well as a variety of staff throughout the DDSO, other State agencies, voluntary providers, families, community representatives.
• Skills in conflict management and problem solving. Possess meeting facilitation skills. Training/presentation ability.
• Knowledge of DDSO policies and procedures and agency regulations, as well as applicable federal and state regulations.
• Demonstrate the capacity to function well independently, prioritize work assignments, and manage time and responsibilities, including but not limited to work assignments involving travel throughout the Region.
• Demonstrated writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in a thorough, concise, accurate, and professional manner including knowledge/ability to utilize various computer programs. Ability to set up and maintain appropriate and useful monitoring systems.
