Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidate must have permanent status as a Research Scientist 4, G-27 and interested in reassignment; OR must have a Bachelor’s Degree and five years of professional research experience in the appropriate field; OR Master’s Degree and four years of such experience; OR Doctorate in the appropriate field and two years of such experience.

Duties Description The Research Scientist 4 will oversee prevention planning, research and epidemiological initiatives and assist with local and statewide needs assessment. The incumbent is responsible for developing policies, guidelines, and operating standards of practice for OASAS-funded prevention providers who deliver alcohol, substance abuse, and problem gambling prevention services in their counties and communities, and supervise a unit of professional staff. The incumbent works with external groups to ensure prevention planning for mental hygiene services is integrated; and conducts analysis of prevention program data to issue reports for policy makers and other stakeholders in the prevention service system.
