Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidate must have 2 years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.

Duties Description SUNY Geneseo is searching for a Maintenance Assistant, SG-09 to join the Core Shop. This position will be primarily located in the lockshop with additonal responsibilities for routine, repetitive maintenance, installation and repair tasks, in one of or a combination of the mechanical, building construction, motor equipment and electrical trades. He or she will be asked to assist in troubleshooting systems, using power tools, shop equipment and measuring/testing instruments and interacting with staff in a congenial, supportive and service-oriented manner. Incumbent will perform a variety of routine tasks in the servicing and installation of locks and other door and window hardware.
