Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.
Duties Description One of the primary duties will be completing wetland delineations. Applicants need to have wetland delineation training. Training in wetland ecology also preferred.
Inspection of streams and lakes as needed to make permit decisions.
Compliance/ enforcement.
Identification of potential mitigation sites (potential).
Identification of problematic stream crossings (eg, aquatic life passage).
Evaluate past performance of mitigation/ aquatic passage measures.
Development, implementation, and maintenance of a database for tracking Habitat workload activities, delineations, map amendments.
F&W – Assist F&W programs with projects as needed.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Wetland delineation training, and wetland ecology training are strongly preferred. Stream channel design would be helpful. Experience working with public helpful. Fish and plant ID helpful.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration of 7/2/18 - 3/31/19. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to dates listed in duties description. Actual work schedule, duties, and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
