Minimum Qualifications Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• You must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.
• You must pass a physical, medical examination (this includes a psychological assessment and drug screening), agility test, and criminal background check.
• You will have to be cleared through the New York State Child Abuse Registry and the Medicaid Fraud Prevention and Detection Databases.
• In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment.

Written Examination:
The examination will have questions in which you will have to pick the best answer. You will have to show that you:
1. can solve a simple problem;
2. understand what you read and can use that information to answer questions;
3. can do basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide, and read and understand numerical information.
Must get a score of 70 or higher in order to be considered.

Duties include:
Caring for people with developmental disabilities. These individuals live in houses operated by New York State, but treated as if they belong to the people who live there. You will be part of the “family”. You are there to assist with daily living skills. For example, you may have to help:
• bathe
• dress
• comb and style hair
• eat
• get into and out of wheelchairs
• walk
• cook
• clean the house
• wash clothes
• administer medication(s)
• attend doctor appointments
You will also go on outings, such as shopping, the movies, events in the community, and personal choice activities.
Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
