Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Must pass a keyboarding test (35 words per minute, with at least 96% accuracy).
OR
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding
OR
Eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Type correspondence, documents, records, and other written material.
Use software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheet, data base management, e-mail, etc.
Review work to ensure conformance with accepted office practices.
Proofread and correct work to produce accurate copy.
Distribute incoming mail.
Maintain files.
Answer phones and handle routine questions or issues.
Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
Additional Comments (Title was formerly Keyboard Specialist 1).
*Must be reachable on the eligible list AND pass a keyboarding test to be eligible for hire.
Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
