Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent status in a title within two grades of SG-18 and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. This position may be filled as a two-year traineeship via appointment from the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) or Public Administration Transition Traineeship (PATT) eligible lists. Employees eligible to transfer to HPA Trainee 1 (NS-13) or HPA Trainee 2 (NS-14) may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications: excellent verbal/written communication skills and analytical skills; ability to extract relevant information from providers and their representatives to determine conformity with program integrity requirements; close attention to detail; ability to meet deliverable schedules; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to get along with others and experience working in a collaborative environment; ability to recognize appropriate actions, make recommendations and/or decisions; willingness to listen to providers and their representatives, and make objective recommendations in furtherance of the responsibilities indicated in this posting.
Duties Description Reporting to the Director of the Compliance Program Review Unit or other supervisor within the Bureau of Compliance, the incumbent performs duties relative to the assessment and monitoring of providers in meeting their regulatory compliance requirements.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Conduct compliance program reviews using bureau policies and procedures, including established timeframes and templates; performs role (lead or associate) as assigned;
• Conduct compliance contact initiatives; prepare written reports and documentation as required; request appropriate information, monitor and follow up on receipt of deliverables;
• Triage and directly respond to compliance related telephone calls, emails and letters received (including dedicated bureau telephone and email accounts);
• Provide objective and constructive guidance and assistance to providers in a collaborative manner that is consistent with OMIG policy, procedures, and direction.
• Conduct research as requested, and assist in the development of OMIG and bureau guidance materials and publications as directed by bureau management.
Additional Comments Permanent, Full Time. Regular travel (25%) is required.
Filling of this position is pending waiver approval by the Division of Budget.
