Minimum Qualifications Transfer Qualifications:

Any permanent employee eligible for a 70.1 transfer.

Minimum Qualifications: You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 or Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 (Spanish Language).

Selection Criteria:

• Possess excellent communication skills, writing skills and organization skills
• Ability to make independent decisions when supervisor is unavailable.
• Review of the time and attendance and personal history folder.
• Must be able to flex time as required.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Region 2 Deputy Director, the incumbent has district wide responsibilities (6 counties of the “Sunmount” region) which will include but not be limited to, Coordination of Waiver Services, Housing and Development, Self-Direction, Residential and Local School Transition.

• Will provide, as needed, Voluntary Operated (VO) agencies with technical assistance in the planning, funding, development and implementation of the Front Door and OPWDD’s transition into Managed Care Service Delivery System.
• Act as liaison between Central Office and Voluntary Agencies, disseminate relevant information regarding OPWDD supports and services.
• Participate in OPWDD regional and statewide meetings pertaining to duties as outlined above.
• Participate as member of the RO2 Leadership Team.
• Will supervise and provide training and technical assistance to the Waiver, Self-Direction, School Transition, Development Teams.
• Will provide oversite and technical assistance in the review and monitoring of voluntary agencies.
• Administrator on Duty and other tasks as assigned.
• Occasional Travel Required.
• Other duties as assigned.
