Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Applicant must pass a typing test and be able to accurately (95%) type 30 words per minute.

Duties Description The Division of Materials Management is filling a Seasonal Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding position to assist with office assistant duties for the Bureau of Solid Waste Management, Bureau of Waste Reduction & Recycling, Bureau of Hazardous Waste & Radiation Management and Bureau of Pesticides Management within the Division of Materials Management. The Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding in this position will provide administrative support and assistance to these Bureaus and Division staff as directed.

The Seasonal Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding will work under the direct supervision of a Secretary 1 to provide essential administrative and secretarial support to several key Bureau & Division programs.

Specifically, the Seasonal Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding may be assigned duties for any of the four Bureaus as determined by the Supervisor. Responsibilities would include: assuring timely and accurate completion of Bureau & Division correspondence; Commissioner letters; I-expense reports; travel arrangements; telephone coverage for the Bureau and occasionally for the Division; appropriately responding to the public; processing and delivery of mail; maintenance of certain databases; and e-filing of key documents. All tasks are to be performed in accordance with Division policies and procedures.

Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment ending no later than 3/31/19. Program needs will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to 3/31/19. Actual work schedule may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
